A few weeks ago we ventured down to Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia to go hiking and also to play “tourist.” We started at Shenandoah National Park and worked our way into town. Harper’s Ferry is such a beautiful historic area, with picturesque scenery everywhere you turn. The town is very “touristy” but filled with unique shops and inns. If you’re feeling adventurous, Harper’s Ferry also boasts zip lining, kayaking, rafting, tubing and more.
Charles Town Races are located about 1o minutes away from Harper’s Ferry. My boyfriend, his son, and I met up with my mother who is a geek for races. She watches horse racing regularly so she was really excited to see her favorite horses run. My boyfriend allowed his 12 year old son to pick a horse to win one of the races and he would bet a few dollars on it. His son picked Moreno, who won- go figure! If only he had bet more….
