The chill is already in the air and the leaves are beginning to turn. Fall is finally here! As someone who LOVES Halloween more than any other holiday, I thought it would make sense to do some research and find a few fantastic Halloween fun for you to check out this year.
FIELD OF SCREAMS – MOUNTVILLE, PA
You may have seen it on the Travel Channel as this Haunted attraction’s popularity has risen over the years. Located in Lancaster, PA, Field of Screams takes up a large space in the open fields. They have plenty of food vendors, live entertainment, creepy characters running around, and of course – the amazing main events. I have been to Field of Screams on a few occasions and their hay ride never gets old. I think it’s very easy for hay rides to become cheesy and boring, but Field of Screams does a fabulous job at keeping theirs exciting. If you get a chance to go to Field of Screams, I highly suggest you check them out. As you can see in the above photo, I love it there…..
EASTERN STATE PENITENTIARY: TERROR BEHIND THE WALLS – PHILADELPHIA, PA
I have yet to visit this one but I have been REALLY eager to! If visiting an old prison tickles your fancy, Eastern State Penitentiary can be visited year round in Philadelphia, PA. However, around Halloween the prison becomes a Halloween attraction. As if the building isn’t creepy enough as it is, add in some Halloween effects and you’re bound to have a fun time.
MCKAMEY MANOR – SAN DIEGO, CA
I’ve never experienced the McKamey Manor but it looks like one heck of a haunt! This isn’t your average haunted attraction. This place requires reservations in advance and waivers to be signed! They even make sure you are physically and mentally capable of handling the manor before allowing you in.
This is a 4 to 7 hour real-life horror movie type of experience! Oh and you have to be over 18.
Think you could handle it?
THE 13TH GATE – BATON ROUGE, LA
This one looks like it would be a lot of fun – and I wish I could check it out for myself! The effects are realistic and the actors do a great job playing off of people’s fears. If you live in or plan to visit Louisiana, check out the 13th Gate and let us know how it was!
BLACKOUT – NEW YORK & LOS ANGELES
This haunted house claims to be amazing because of its extreme conditions! You have to sign a waiver before entering, so that says something about the kind of experience it is. You also have to be 18+ to enter. It isn’t just a haunted house, it’s a haunted experience. Upon signing a waiver, actors are allowed to touch you and “torture” you. Oh, and you also go in alone.
If you have been through any of these haunted attractions, please comment below with the name and what you thought of the experience! We would LOVE to hear your story!
