A MARYLANDER’S VACATION – OCEAN CITY, MD

Posted on Posted in Trips in Eastern United States

Ocean City, Maryland is a staple of the state.  It’s a mere 3 hours or so from Baltimore and can be a lot of fun for people of all ages.  I remember going as a kid and when I go back now, it almost seems like nothing has changed.  The rides are ancient (and sketchy at that), the people operating them wear the same orange and yellow shirts as they did back in the 80’s, and the greasy food on the boardwalk is still amazing.  The best thing about Ocean City is that it isn’t too far from Baltimore and there are lots of photo opportunities for the wandering photographer.

If you stop in Ocean City, MD, you have to get a milkshake at Dumsers, a bucket of french fries at Thrashers,  a mango Polish Water Ice , and finally a wrap at The Wrapper.  Also, Ocean City, MD over the last few years has also become a popular Dew Tour destination, which I was fortunate enough to photograph with a media pass a few years back.  Check it out if you ever get the chance – it’s a lot of fun.
