CONCORD POINT LIGHTHOUSE – HAVRE DE GRACE, MD

Posted on Posted in Trips in Eastern United States

Concord Point lighthouse is a really beautiful lighthouse sitting right next to the water in Havre De Grace, MD.  I am a fan of lighthouses so if I find one, as long as my camera is in hand, it feels like I’ve won the lottery.

Believe it or not, 4th of July weekend was my first time visiting Havre De Grace – even after living in Maryland for so long.  I picked a great time to see it because the fireworks show they put on was incredible.  It’s a quaint little bay town that sure knows how to put on a celebration – and it draws a tremendous crowd!  How did I not know about this earlier?

Concord Point Lighthouse is one of the oldest lighthouses on the east coast that runs continuously.  It’s even open to the public for viewing from April to October so if you happen to  stop by – be sure to check it out!  Oh and be sure to walk the promenade, a long boarded walkway along the edge of the water.

  1. i used to live in HDG. i miss that cute little spot so much. it’s a shame to see how it was destroyed by the hurricane many years ago… but i was thrilled to know the lighthouse still stood! thanks for sharing these awesome fotos!!

    1. I didn’t know it had been destroyed! It looks great (the parts that I walked around) and as you can see, the lighthouse is absolutely still there! Thanks for the feedback – it’s such a nice little area!

      1. a lot of the boardwalk was ruined, but they may have fixed it since… i haven’t been to maryland in 4 or 5 years, but i do love to visit HDG when i go! thanks again for sharing the pics and allowing me to travel down memory lane 😉
