I love to utilize apps when I travel. Sometimes I use them to prepare for my travels. They can be super convenient when you’re on the go.
For the record, these are all personal opinions and I was not paid to endorse any of these companies.
Here are some of the apps that I love to use for travel purposes:
I’ve only used this a few times so far, but it’s a pretty neat app. This one is helpful for finding places to stay, restaurants, and recreational spots close by.
I have yet to actually book anything from AirBNB, but I love the fact that when I want to, I can find some really unique places to stay with this! I love seeing what kinds of places are out there. There is a place for every budget.
I’m an avid Southwest flyer. Anytime I travel, I fly with them. This app has been great for me. I primarily use it to check in when i’m not at a computer and to check my flight times.
I don’t know about you but I absolutely adore TripAdvisor! I am always browsing their website. TripAdvisor helped me find a place to stay on my solo vacation last year in Morro Bay, California. I needed a super cheap place but I was hoping to find one that wasn’t super sketchy. Thanks to the reviews on TripAdvisor, I found exactly what I was looking for! The place ended up being absolutely perfect for my needs. They don’t only have lodging reviews, but also restaurants, recreation, and more.
I downloaded this app because it sounded fun. I have yet to book with it, but it seems like a great option for some last-minute lodging deals. If you’ve always wanted to stay in a swanky hotel but could never afford it, this helps make that dream come true. Hotel Tonight finds great deals with hotels that have extra rooms to fill at the last-minute. This allows for sometimes steep discounts with some of the glamorous hotel options as well as basic accommodations for those on a budget.
This one is my absolute favorite. I use it more than any of the other travel apps I have. TripColor allows you to keep albums of every trip you take. You can add photos and text in a timeline that illustrates the trips you input. After you’re finished with a trip, you can even share it with other people via e-mail or social media. Also, you can send custom postcards directly from your cell phone for a small fee. I have sent a couple of postcards before and I thought it was a lot of fun.
